Webinar: Engineering yourself in the software world - one step at a time

Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM until 3:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

Hosted by Vasanth Krishnamoorthy, WalmartLabs

This interactive webinar will cover how to become a better engineer - one step at a time. Every one of us can improve their professional self in several ways, and I'll share a few things that worked (or didn't work) for me, including common traits shared by the great engineers within the open source community. We'll also look at how life outside of work can help you build a better developer mindset. My goal is to have you leave the webinar with a better understanding of the necessary internal framework for building a strong career in the software industry.

Vasanth Krishnamoorthy is a Senior Front End Engineer at WalmartLabs and works on some of the latest cutting-edge technologies. Previously he worked as a software engineer for GoToMeeting, a web conferencing system, and Graphiq, a data research engine. An alumnus of Oregon State University, he did his Masters in Computer Science and research work in Intelligent tutoring systems with Dr. Scaffidi. He is also an active contributor to the Open source ecosystem and writes blog posts on Web/JavaScript topics. Apart from work he loves staying fit through crossfit, playing chess, drawing portraits, painting and photography. He also enjoys traveling and recently backpacked solo through Europe. He believes in constant learning/trying out new things by stepping out of the comfort zone and making thing happen.
