Course Drop Form

Students may drop a course during the first 6 weeks of the session.

When a course is dropped after the session has begun, students are assessed tuition in the following format:

Drops during Weeks 1 and 2: 25% of course tuition is assessed
Drops during Weeks 3 and 4: 50% of course tuition is assessed
Drops after Week 4: 100% of course tuition is assessed

If you have paid your tuition in full, you are eligible for the following refund schedule:

Drops during Weeks 1 and 2: 75% refund
Drops during Weeks 3 and 4: 50% refund
Drops during Weeks 5 and 6: no refund

Dropping a course after the end of Week 6 is not permitted. Students who are in their first course and decide to drop a course will not receive the $500 non-refundable deposit, regardless of when the course is dropped.

A student may drop the same required course no more than twice, and a student may drop no more than six courses during the course of completing their program requirements. After the fourth drop, the student will be placed on academic warning.

Students who are eligible to receive a refund based on the refund schedule above must submit a request in Workday, using the Student Account application worklet. Please refer to the GPS Student Handbook for full details on the Course Drop Policy and contact your Student Advisor with any questions.

If you are not a Brandeis Online or GPS student, do not continue -- please contact your academic advisor for steps on dropping your course at your school/department.

Financial aid/balance acknowledgment: I understand that in cases where I may use financial aid for paying my tuition, my aid may be affected by a reduction in coursework. In the event this happens, I agree to pay any balance on my account that is a result of my request to drop my course(s).

If I am currently under a payment plan, I understand I am still responsible for any prorated tuition that will be assessed after the drop is completed.
